Sound Planning conducts Planning Policy Guidance 24 (PPG24) noise assessments for commercial and private clients; liaising with the Local Planning Authority (LPA) throughout the PPG24 process, until submittal of the finalised PPG24 acoustic report.
Please contact Sound Planning with details of your PPG24 requirements, and one of our consultants will explain what needs to be undertaken and provide a competitive cost structure.
PPG24 noise assessments are usually undertaken over a 24 hour period (minimum) or an abbreviated assessment in conjunction with CRTN (3 hour).
PPG24 equipment comprises of Class 1 UKAS calibrated sound level meters (SLM's) with minimum single octave capability for BS8233: 1999 rigorous internal noise level calculations.
PPG24 acoustic reports detail the ambient noise level for site and place into a Noise Exposure Category (NEC); the NEC determines the basic level of facade specification. NEC C and NEC D will often require more rigorous calculation of facade specification, in order to achieve the requisite internal noise level.
Sound Planning's PPG24 acoustic reports detail all required elements in order to be accepted by the local planning authority.
