Air Traffic Noise assessments are conducted over extended periods evaluating daytime (16 hours) and night time (8 hours) noise levels.

Noise levels can be either measured or calculated relative to noise contours provided by the local authority in question.

Sound Planning evaluates the Noise Exposure Category the given location falls into and conducts internal noise level calculations in accordance with the rigorous methodology laid out in 6.7.2 of British Standard 8233: 1999.

Once the internal noise levels have been calculated, our consultants can specify a suitable noise mitigation design strategy. Strategies include improving the external facade composition:

• Ventilation
• Wall
• Roof
• Ceilings
