Industrial noise should be assessed in accordance with British Standard 4142: 1997, covering all types of industrial and commercial noise sources:
- Air Conditioning
- Fans (right)
- Plantrooms
- Generators
- Workshops
- Chillers
- Condensers
- Equipment
BS4142: 1997 noise assessments utilise mechanical noise measurements (retrospective) or predicted noise levels at teh nearest noise sensitive facades.
Noise levels are compared to existing background noise levels and the regulatory framework laid out in the standard.
Sound Planning consultants conduct the necessary noise measurements or calculations, and provide a noise mitigation stratgey within the acoustic report, if required. Mitigation strategies include:
- Acoustic Enclosures
- Acoustic Screens
- Attenuators
- Acoustic Louvres
- Acoustic Barriers
- Equipment Re-specification
